Time for Eui’s sorbet
Did I ever talk you about Eui? I do not think so. It’s my niece with this mischievous smile and the tawny hair that stubbornly persists not to shear…apart from the bangs, where she hides from her mom, gets the scissors and tries to fix it… and proudly afterwards she asks me “Do you like my new bangs?” Can I say no? Of course not.
One of her obsessions is the specific sorbet. Personally as Iong as I remember, I love ice cream and sorbets, all kinds of flavor and texture…. and I can not resist to them even during the winter.
Since last summer, my sister makes it successfully and of course Eui is the first one to try it! I recall our many “battles” over this pink “diamond”! Yesterday, we had a small skype chat, where once more she refers to that one! She even knows how to make at the age of 8.5 years old.
As you might have guessed, today’s recipe is for this sorbet. The name can not be other than the very simple “Eui’s sorbet”
It’s super simple, refreshing, healthy, vegan, sugar free and a taste to die for!
Ideal for today’s EURO 2016 final night, France against Portugal!! French are very proud of their team, and the city of Bordeaux, where I live, is one of the hosting cities. I have no words about the celebration atmosphere during these game days. A touristic place turns into a party town. Love it!
I only watch football during big events and I can say that I really get fanatic with all the relevant swearing and shouting even I am not aware of the detailed rules…and yes I have favourite players of the French team, 1st: Dimitri Payet and 2nd: Olivier Giroud
So tonight I and Evi support France, I for all the above reasons and Evi because firstly, one of the dreams is to visit Disneyland secondly, her aunt is in France and thirdly, and the most surprising, coz she likes football! You can not say anything about it…we have very good reasons right?
How to make sorbet
So simply and with passion, today we drink sorbet and watch football. OLEEE!
You can freeze the fruits for 3-4 hours if you are in a hurry.
It’s better to use a good quality blender, mine is a cheap one and its quite difficult to blend it well. In addition, when the texture comes out of the blender the texture looks like sorbet, in my case looks like more as a fruit shake because of the photography timing…the ice on it start melting! But on either ways its equal delicious!
I’m leaving right away to refrigerate some more fruits for today’s night. As I mentioned above, today it’s game time! Bonne chance (Good luck) as French say…
- 2 frozen ripe bananas in slices
- 250 grams frozen strawberries in slices
- Juice of 1-2 orange, cold
- Put the fruits on the freezer.
- Remove the fruits from the freezer and leave them on room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Place the juice of 1 orange on your blender, add the fruits gradually and blend until you get a smooth texture.
- In case its too thick, add the 2nd orange juice also.
- Super easy and ready to enjoy!
