The Classic Solution?
Medicines and ointments on a daily basis. The doctor’s hunger for pills never ceases to amaze me.
I had a very serious problem with Allergic Rhinitis since I was 16 years old. I had tried EVERYTHING! Doctors, ointments, cortisol, tests in hospitals, etc. Every Spring was my nightmare, literally.
My Years out of Greece
Due to my work, I left Greece and moved abroad in 2006 – 2017. In European countries, my symptoms were much less than Greece. On the contrary, during my working years in Qatar, my symptoms were completely gone! I was so happy that my nightmare was ended! Guess what! Those 11 years in other countries, I seldom visited Greece during Spring and it was only for limited days.
During my years abroad, I start seeing interest in Vegetarian and a Healthy Vegan Diet. The first reason was that I could not stand the smell of the meat. I was forced to put lots of spices in order to be tasty. My second reason was to be more healthy and active. So I started to cut down the meat and find replacements.
I attended various seminars, I trained on Vegan cooking and pastry, I trained on massage, the lymphatic system, Anatomy, and Physiology, read countless books, watched related documentaries, talked to a number of people who had seen health benefits, and I was informed about animal torture.
Back to Greece
I returned to Greece and, with my return, Allergy Nightmare was back. Pills and cortisones to a large extent. The 1st year was a nightmare! Due to cortisones, my hands were swollen, I had chest pain and generally was feeling awful and depressed. I was an almost daily basis, inside the house with closed windows. Food took over my depression and I gained lots of weight.
I WAS DESPERATE!
After a long period in trying everything, I finally gave up all the medicines. Enough!
During the lent period, I decided to become a 100% Vegetarian to see if I notice any improvement. I cut meat, fish, and eggs. Cold turkey! In addition, I cut down all the medicines. That year, I did not notice any changes.
The 2nd year, I turned to Veganism with several breaks in between. To cut down the dairy is very difficult indeed. To my great surprise, I then noticed a slight improvement in Allergy symptoms! Of course, I suffered enough, but I could manage without the medication. Besides that, I decided to cut down the sugar as well and become 70-80% in the raw food diet, high in fruit.
This year is my 3rd year as 100% Vegetarian and almost 1 year in Healthy Vegan diet, without Sugar and mostly in Raw food diet. Of course, I have a few days that I spoil my diet and eat dairy and sugar, where my cravings kick in. I am managing them. My current diet consists mainly of fruits and a clean Vegan diet without sugar (A Vegan diet can be too unhealthy, too!). I also try to avoid gluten as much as possible.
I have seen a huge improvement in my Allergy Symptoms!
The symptoms are back and forward, very occasionally, but I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I am so thrilled and happy that I can finally enjoy Spring! There are days that I do not have any symptoms and a few days that my symptoms are back (mainly for just ONLY half an hour in the morning). But the days without symptoms are much much more! In fact, as I writing this post, I haven’t face any symptom for more than 10 days now.
I CAN FINALLY BREATH PROPERLY AND ENJOY SPRING!
What am I eating?
Sample Diet Plan:
- A glass of water with a squeezed lemon,
- A half hour later, 500grams of a juice (mono-fruit) or 5-6 fruits or a Smoothie or 2 slices of bread with veggies or a snack bar,
- Tea or coffee.
- Mainly Fruits or Juice or a Smoothie.
- A big Salad with a Vegan cooked or raw dish or 4-5 fruits, or only salad
- Mainly Fruits or Juice or a snack bar or a Smoothie
- A big Salad or 4-5 fruits or nuts.
- Some days I just only fruits and Healthy Vegan dishes.
- I dry fast from the 7-8pm up to 11-12 next morning. (Dry fast: No water, No Food)
- Some days my cravings kick in and I eat whatever I wish for. Mainly Vegan Junk food and sugar.
- Yoga 3-4 times a week.
- I daily drink herbal teas and Lingzhi mushroom
- No starvation and limited food. I eat loots of it.

Is it Veganism or the Healthy Diet that lead me to this improvement? I have previously attempted to cut down sugars and eat healthy but in vain. I am 100% convinced that the Healthy Vegan diet helped me to cure my Allergic Rhinitis.
My Solution to treat Allergic Rhinitis is a clean Vegan diet coupled with a reasonable amount of exercise. It is a long-term lifestyle change than a quick-fix fad, and it can provide sustained health benefits.
“For me Personally, Veganism isn’t a trend, its nowhere close. Its a revolution, that’s what it is. Like the revolution for equality of love, genders, blacks, etc. Veganism is a fight against animal cruelty and irresponsibly supreme reign of humanity. ”
On the other hand, Veganism is about Health. I have experienced lots of health benefits in myself that I would not stop arguing against Veganism!
Do you feel sick? Depressed? Nervous and highly stressed? Then smth is wrong with your nutrition. Fact! If you want to eat bacon and eggs for breakfast and then take cholesterol-lowering medication, that’s your right. If you want to pay hospital bills that’s your right too.
I will not ask you to follow my example, I will not ask you to follow Veganism. I will simply propose to do nothing less than redefine what you think as good nutrition and not what others propose to you. What makes you feel REALLY good and not just OK. “I feel ok” it does not answer. “I feel great” is the answer. But in order to feel great, you will face lots of upside downs / bad moments, just do not give up.
Do not follow crowds. Read, get educated, talk to people and discover the truth by yourself. This is what I personally did.
